COLOMBO (News 1st): Health authorities reveal that approximately 30 people die daily due to various accidents.Dr. Samitha Siritunga, a Consultant Community Physician at the Ministry of Health’s Non-Communicable Disease Unit, stressed that while road accidents are a major concern, the public must also be vigilant regarding other common hazards. He emphasized the need for greater societal focus on preventing falls, drownings, electrocutions, and snakebites.Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manoj Ranagala, Director of the Traffic Management and Road Safety Division, expressed concern over a significant rise in road accidents this year compared to the previous year.
