Honda has urged vehicle owners in Sri Lanka to check if their cars are affected by a free SRS airbag system upgrade recall covering numerous popular models.
Honda automobile owners across Sri Lanka have been notified of an ongoing recall affecting the safety systems of several vehicle models. The recall concerns the SRS airbag system and applies to selected variants of the Civic, CR-V, Accord, Fit/Jazz, City, Insight, Stream, Odyssey, Integra, and Crossroad models.
According to the safety notice, vehicle owners can determine whether their cars are affected by entering their chassis number into Honda Sri Lanka's dedicated safety recall portal. The company has emphasized that completing the required upgrade is essential, warning that neglecting to do so could increase the risk of injury to drivers and front passengers should airbags deploy during a collision.
Stafford Motor Co. (Pvt) Ltd., which serves as Honda's sole authorised distributor in Sri Lanka, has confirmed that the upgrade will be provided entirely at no cost to vehicle owners. Notably, the company stated that this complimentary service extends to all affected vehicles, regardless of whether they were originally imported through Stafford or have been serviced by the company previously.
