A British-owned oil tanker was attacked by unidentified gunmen while passing through the Strait of Hormuz today (27), foreign news reports. The tanker's British Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said the attack caused some damage to the vessel, but all crew members on board were safe and unharmed.
A similar attack was carried out on a Singaporean oil tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz a few days ago.
In response, US officials reportedly carried out airstrikes on targets in Iran yesterday (26).
