India's Test squad has landed in Sri Lanka to compete in a two-match World Test Championship series, with matches scheduled for mid to late August at venues in Galle and Colombo.
The Indian cricket team touched down at Bandaranaike International Airport this afternoon, arriving on a direct flight from Mumbai to begin their World Test Championship campaign in Sri Lanka. Officials from Sri Lanka Cricket received the visiting delegation, marking the formal start of preparations for the upcoming bilateral series.
The competitive schedule will see India face Sri Lanka in two Test matches as part of the 2025–2027 World Test Championship cycle. The first encounter is set for August 15-19 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, followed by the second Test from August 23-27 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. Both venues are known for presenting distinct challenges to visiting teams, with Galle's tropical conditions and the SSC's home advantage potentially shaping the series outcome.
Before the official matches commence, Sri Lanka Cricket has arranged a preparatory fixture for the Indian team from August 7-10 at the NCC Ground in Colombo.
