Two renowned Indian restaurants will bring specially designed tasting menus to Indiya at City of Dreams Sri Lanka for a two-night culinary event featuring modern interpretations of Indian cuisine.

City of Dreams Sri Lanka's Indiya restaurant will host a guest chef experience featuring culinary talent from two prominent Mumbai-based establishments. Executive Chef Rijul Gulati from Indian Accent Mumbai and Chef Niyati Rao, Head Chef and Partner of Ekaa, will oversee the dining experience on August 7 and 8.

The event will showcase two distinct approaches to Indian gastronomy through specially curated vegetarian and non-vegetarian tasting menus. According to Chef Gulati, the menus will highlight modern reinterpretations of traditional Indian dishes, reflecting the country's diverse culinary heritage. Chef Rao's contribution will emphasize an ingredient-led philosophy that draws inspiration from seasonal availability and cultural influences.

Diners can expect a carefully planned progression of courses that blend both restaurants' culinary perspectives. The menu includes offerings such as papdi chaat with crackling spinach, blue cheese naan, black cod prepared with masala carrot and apricot chutney, as well as regional specialties like Marathawada and Daulat Ki Chaat. The tasting experience will conclude with a dessert course featuring risalamande accompanied by pandan rice gelato.

Both chefs expressed enthusiasm about presenting their culinary approaches to Colombo audiences. The collaboration aims to offer diners an opportunity to experience Indian cuisine through contemporary fine dining techniques while maintaining connections to traditional flavours and cultural narratives.
