Indian visa, passport services to shift to new provider from July 7

The High Commission of India in Colombo has announced that Alhind Global Services has been selected as the new Outsourcing Service Provider (OSP) for visa, passport, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), attestation and other consular services in Sri Lanka. According to the High Commission, the new service provider will commence operations from July 7, 2026, on behalf of the High Commission of India in Colombo, the Assistant High Commission in Kandy, and the Consulates General in Jaffna and Hambantota. As part of the new arrangement, an Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) will also be opened in Batticaloa to improve access to consular services. From July 7, applicants will be able to book appointments for visa, passport, OCI and other consular services through the ICAC Sri Lanka website. Applications can be submitted at the new centres located in Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna, Hambantota and Batticaloa. (Newswire)
