Inmates To Be Transferred To Old Bogambara Prison This Week

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Prisons stated that there are plans to transfer inmates to the old Bogambara Prison within this week.Prisons Spokesperson, A. C. Gajanayake, mentioned that development of infrastructure and the strengthening of security arrangements are currently underway.Regarding the conflict at the Negombo Prison, the investigation committee appointed by the Department of Prisons has now begun recording statements.Accordingly, statements are currently being recorded from prison officers regarding the incident.The conflict that occurred at the Negombo Prison on the 6th resulted in the deaths of 10 prison officers and 21 inmates.
