The Negombo Crime Suppression Division has arrested 6 suspects with cosmetic cream particles worth approximately 39 million (nearly 4 crore) rupees, which were illegally brought to Sri Lanka from India in 3 dinghies and loaded into a refrigerated lorry. Based on a confidential information received by the Officer-in-Charge of the Negombo Crime Suppression Division, Chief Police Inspector Chandana Ranasinghe, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Dissanayake carried out this operation. During this, the police first arrested the lorry carrying the cream particles and the two persons in it near the Pitipana Fishing Harbour. Based on intensive interrogation conducted with them, the police have arrested the boats that brought the cream particles by sea and 4 additional suspects. The Negombo Crime Suppression Division is conducting further investigations regarding the seized cosmetics and the suspects.
