The Department of Examinations has launched an investigation following the accidental unsealing of a question paper package at an examination coordination centre in Ambalantota during today's G.C.E. Advanced Level examination.

An inquiry has been initiated by the Department of Examinations after officials at an examination coordination centre in Ambalantota mistakenly unsealed a package containing question papers for the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination. Commissioner General of Examinations Indika Kumari Liyanage confirmed that the breach occurred while personnel were handling bags of examination materials at the facility.

According to Liyanage, staff at the coordination centre promptly reported the incident to the Department of Examinations upon discovering the unsealing. Following the notification, the package was immediately resealed and returned to its proper storage location. The Commissioner General emphasized that no examination question papers were distributed or compromised during the incident.

A team of officials from the Department of Examinations was dispatched to the coordination centre to conduct a thorough investigation into how the incident occurred. Liyanage addressed concerns about the impact on today's examination schedule, urging students not to be unduly alarmed and to proceed with their scheduled tests as planned.
