The Justice and National Integration Ministry has opened an inquiry into structural cracks that have developed in the judges' chambers at the Colombo High Court, according to Minister Harshana Nanayakkara. Engineering teams and ministry officials conducted an on-site inspection to evaluate the extent and nature of the damage.
Following the assessment, the Ministry expects to receive a detailed technical report on the condition of the affected chambers. Minister Nanayakkara indicated that the findings would inform next steps in addressing the structural concerns.
To coordinate responses to the issue, the Ministry has scheduled a discussion involving all relevant stakeholders for the same day as the report's submission. The exact timeline for remedial action and the severity of the structural damage have not yet been disclosed.
