Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has conducted retaliatory attacks against US military installations in multiple countries, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions following fresh American strikes on Iranian targets.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a coordinated wave of missile and drone attacks targeting US-linked military facilities across the Middle East on Wednesday, responding to a fresh round of American strikes against Iranian positions. The retaliatory operation struck multiple countries in the region, with reported attacks on US installations in Jordan, Iraq, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

According to Jordan's Armed Forces, 13 Iranian ballistic missiles entered Jordanian airspace, with 10 successfully intercepted and three landing in unpopulated areas. Bahrain and Kuwait both reported activating air defence systems to counter the incoming strikes. While Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed that US personnel were killed in the attacks, two US officials told Reuters that initial assessments indicated no American casualties resulted from the strikes in Jordan.

The Iranian response followed US military operations targeting Iranian facilities in the south of the country. US Central Command stated that American strikes targeted air defence systems, radar installations, maritime capabilities, and communications infrastructure operated by the IRGC. Washington attributed its operations to Iranian attempts to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and US personnel stationed in the region. However, Iranian authorities reported that at least one American strike hit a residential building hosting a wedding celebration in Sirik County, resulting in casualties. Initial reports from Iran's Red Crescent indicated four deaths including a child, though later Iranian sources reported the toll at five with dozens injured.

President Donald Trump had previously warned Iran against retaliation, indicating that substantially more forceful US military action would follow any Iranian response. The exchange represents one of the most serious military escalations between Washington and Tehran in recent weeks.
