IRD Opens Submission of 2025/2026 Tax Returns; Income Above Rs. 1.8 Million Taxable

by Staff Writer 01-07-2026 | 10:35 AMCOLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Inland Revenue states that submissions of income tax returns for the 2025/2026 assessment year will be accepted starting today.Accordingly, all individuals registered for income tax are required to submit their returns.The department further stated that returns can be filed online using the taxpayer’s TIN number.Furthermore, the Inland Revenue Department stated that all individuals with an annual income exceeding Rs. 1.8 million are subject to income tax.
