Island-Wide Operations To Identify Defective Vehicles From Next Week

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Road Safety, W. P. J. Senadheera, says operations to inspect vehicles unfit for road use will commence next week.The inspections will be carried out jointly with officials of the Department of Motor Traffic.DIG Senadheera stated that special attention will be given to vehicles operating in hill country areas during the operation.He further noted that authorities will take steps to remove vehicles deemed unroadworthy from service and prevent them from operating on public roads.
