The People's Joint Opposition has distanced itself from a demonstration outside the Bar Association of Sri Lanka headquarters calling for the president's resignation, instead accusing the government of orchestrating unrest.

A protest took place outside the Colombo offices of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, where demonstrators called for the organization's president to step down. The People's Joint Opposition responded with a public statement denying any involvement in the demonstration, characterizing it as a "low act" unconnected to the opposition coalition or its member parties.

According to the opposition group's statement, the government is deliberately creating conditions that generate public discontent. The coalition framed such activities as evidence that the current administration lacks genuine grassroots support among citizens.

The opposition urged the public to exercise caution regarding what it described as the government's "childish and deceitful acts." The group reiterated its complete separation from the protest and reaffirmed its stance that neither it nor any affiliated party had participated in organizing the demonstration at the BASL headquarters.
