The Department of Meteorology says that showers are likely to occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today. The Department also stated in its weather forecast issued this morning that showers or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in the Uva province and Ampara, Batticaloa and Mullaitivu districts after 2 pm. Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology further stated that fairly strong winds of between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour are likely to occur at times in the western slopes of the Central Hills, the North-Central, North-Western and Southern provinces and the Trincomalee district.
