Considering the prevailing weather conditions in the sea areas around the country, the Department of Meteorology has issued a warning notice. A warning has been issued for the sea areas from Kalpitiya to Kankesanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.Advice
Accordingly, the wind speed may increase to 50-60 kilometers per hour at times in the sea areas off the coast from Kalpitiya to Kankesanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil. The said sea areas will be turbulent at times.
Therefore, the fishing and maritime community are advised to act with caution in this regard and to remain alert for further advisories issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regard.
