Kehelbaddara Padme, identified as an organized crime figure, has been moved to Boossa High Security Prison following a court appearance where he was remanded in custody.

Kehelbaddara Padme, described as an organized crime figure, has been transferred to Boossa High Security Prison under heightened security measures, according to the Prisons Department. The transfer followed a court hearing where he was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragam.

During the court proceedings, the Magistrate extended Padme's detention, ordering that he remain in custody until September 03. Padme had previously been held under a detention order prior to the transfer.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) disclosed that investigators recovered materials from Padme's mobile phone that raised concerns about potential links to prison officials and other individuals. According to the CID's findings presented to the court, the phone contained contact numbers belonging to 13 prison officials as well as photographs of seven individuals identified as models and politicians.
