The underworld member known as ‘Matiya’, who was the shooter of the currently in custody organized crime leader ‘Kehelbaddara Padme’, has been arrested by the security forces in Malaysia and deported to Sri Lanka last night (25). The deported person is Bombuwala Devage Suranga Sanjeewa Karunaratne, alias ‘Matiya’, 42 years old. A resident of Yagodamulla, Kotugoda, the Interpol has previously issued Red Notices against him. The main charge against him is the double murder committed on July 22, 2022, inside the Gampaha court premises. It has been revealed that he was directly involved in the shooting and killing of an organized criminal named 'Paspodda' and another person who was with him, and the shooting and wounding of another group of people who were present there.
