Sri Lanka Scouts Association cleans and beautifies Batticaloa Railway Station under Clean Sri Lanka program President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's noble project to transform Sri Lanka into a beautiful country in Asia, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Scouts Association, a program to clean and beautify railway stations across the island took place.
The event was held under the chairmanship of Amithan Karmegam, Senior Deputy Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scouts Association and Acting Commissioner of Batticaloa District, and Sudarsini Srikanth, Additional Government Agent of the Batticaloa District Secretariat, participated as the Chief Guest. On this occasion, the Clean Sri Lanka pledge of the Sri Lanka Scout Association was read out by the Chief Guest and the Scout Commissioner, and the cleaning work was initiated with the speeches of the guests, and trees were planted in the railway premises. This cleaning program was launched at the Batticaloa Railway Station, which was joined by the Batticaloa, Kalmunai and Akkaraipattu Scout Movements. The event was attended by the Sri Lanka Scout Association Headquarters Commissioner and Eastern Province Scout Association Coordinator P. Sasikumar, the Akkaraipattu Kalmunai Scout Association Commissioner M.I. Udumaleppai, the Batticaloa Railway Station Manager A. Perinparajah and many others. It is noteworthy that a large number of Scout students from the Batticaloa District, Kalmunai and Akkaraipattu areas participated in this event.
