Since the launch of the national operation “Country Together”, 215,526 raids have been conducted and 214,333 suspects have been arrested, the police said, as of yesterday (25.06.2026).
The national operation “Country Together” has been implemented since 30 October 2025 with the aim of completely curbing the widespread drug trafficking in the country.
Sri Lanka Police’s aggressive action As per the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, this anti-drug operation has implemented a multi-pronged approach including preventing the distribution of drugs across the island, reducing the demand for drugs and rehabilitating drug addicts.
Of the arrested suspects, detention orders have been obtained against 3,112 individuals and investigations are underway.
In this context, investigations have been initiated regarding the illegal assets of 360 more suspects.
In addition, steps have been taken to refer 2,188 drug addicts for rehabilitation.
Kilograms of drugs seized
The Police Media Unit has also announced the quantities of major drugs seized during these operations.
Accordingly, 1,963 kilograms and 863 grams of heroin were seized in 69,951 operations, 2,119 kilograms and 629 grams of ice were seized in 82,594 operations.
In addition, 288 kilograms and 864 grams of cocaine were seized in 189 operations, 5,817 kilograms and 714 grams of cannabis were seized in 47,905 operations, and 12,899,201 cannabis plants were seized.
During these operations, the police seized 479 kilograms and 246 grams of kush and 312 kilograms and 291 grams of hashish.
