The event, which was held under the leadership of the school principal, M.Y. Hadiyatullah, was organized under the theme ‘The peak of addiction is temporary, the damage is permanent’. The awareness march started from the school premises and traveled along the main road to create awareness among the public and returned to the school. During the march, the students carried banners with various awareness messages and raised slogans to explain the dangers of drug use and social degradation. Subsequently, an awareness street play was staged by the students, realistically depicting the tragedies, economic losses and mental distress caused to families and society by today's youth becoming addicted to drugs. The play, which greatly impressed the public, delivered a strong message against drugs to the society. As the finale of the event, the principal and teachers honored the students who won the essay competition held at the school level emphasizing the eradication of drugs with certificates and prizes. It is noteworthy that many school teachers, students and parents participated in this campaign and called on them to unite to create a healthy, drug-free Kenya.
