A special festival is planned to be held in Nuwara Eliya for domestic and foreign tourists during the coming Christmas season. With the aim of making Nuwara Eliya an attractive tourist destination during the Christmas season, the festival is being organized through the Nuwara Eliya Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Nuwara Eliya District Secretariat, the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council and the Nuwara Eliya Joint Trade Organization.
A special discussion in this regard was held at the Nuwara Eliya District Secretariat on the 22nd.
The festival will also feature entertainment events including local food, beverages, handicraft exhibitions and tourist shops.
The event was attended by the Mayor of the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council, Upali Wanigasekera, the Nuwara Eliya District Secretary, Thushari Tennakoon, the Nuwara Eliya District DIG, Embriyankara de Silva and the Chairman of the Nuwara Eliya Chamber of Commerce, Douglas Nanayakkara.
