Fisherman dies after being bitten by a fish horn.

The Valaichchenai Police said that a person has died due to injuries sustained while fishing in the deep sea. Three people had gone to the deep sea on a boat from the Valaichchenai port on 24.06.2025 for work. On Sunday (29.06.2025), while they were fishing, at around 10.30 am, while trying to lift a large fish caught in the net, a person who had fallen into the sea accidentally fell into the sea and was injured when the fish horn went into his stomach. The injured person who boarded the boat said that he was bitten by the fish and was in severe pain. The other two people tried to bring him to shore and he passed away at around 12 noon on the way to the shore. The body of the deceased reached the Valaichchenai fishing port at 11 pm last night. The Valaichchenai police and the fishing port coastal security forces are conducting investigations into the death.
