The Police have taken steps to implement a special traffic plan within the Colombo city. This special traffic plan is to be implemented due to the "National Scout Poson Zone" program organized for the first time by the Sri Lanka Scout Association on the occasion of the Poson festival. Accordingly, the Police Media Division has announced that this traffic plan will be in effect from 06.00 pm on June 28 and 29 to 01.00 am the next morning. Alternative routes
This Poson Zone will be implemented on A. Gardiner Mawatha, Chitthambalam from Lakehouse Circle (Regal Junction) to Police Headquarters Circle (approximately 500 meters away). In this situation, vehicles coming from the Regal Junction side will be diverted towards Gamini Circle via D. R. Wijewardena Mawatha and towards N.S.A. via Ceramic Junction - Lotus Road. Vehicles coming from Justice Akbar Mawatha can proceed towards Saranar Mawatha via Mele Road Flyover and Alia Nana Roundabout. Vehicles coming from near the Kompanitheru Flyover on Saranar Mawatha can proceed towards N.S.A. Roundabout and Alia Nana Roundabout. The police have requested drivers and the public to cooperate by using the above alternative routes and parking lots to avoid traffic congestion that may occur on these days.
