On the occasion of World Habitat Day on October 5, a ceremony was held to donate new houses to 67 homeless families in Matara District under the “Our Place - Beautiful Life” National Action Plan, which is being implemented through Urban Development, Construction and Housing.
Accordingly, it has been planned to construct 188 houses throughout the Matara District. Currently, construction work has commenced on 133 houses.
A ceremony to hand over 67 incomplete houses to beneficiary families was held recently.
The ceremony to distribute houses to beneficiaries in the Pasgoda, Mulattyana, Hakmana and Devinuwara Divisional Secretariat Divisions was held with the participation of Maha Sangha members, Matara District Parliamentarian Ajantha Kammetthage, public representatives, Divisional Secretaries and government officials.
