Two private buses collided head-on in the Vajira Vamsa Mawatha area of the Matara-Thalalla road. Police said that about 40 people were injured in the accident and admitted to the hospital. A bus heading from Galle to Ampara and a bus heading from Tangalle to Matara collided head-on. The police further stated that the injured in the accident have been admitted to Matara and Pathigama hospitals.
