A 52-year-old resident of Rambakulama died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Pul Eliya, Medawachchiya while travelling home on his motorcycle.

A fatal elephant attack claimed the life of a 52-year-old man in the Medawachchiya area on Wednesday. The victim, identified as a resident of Rambakulama, was returning home by motorcycle following an alms-giving ceremony at a relative's residence when the encounter with the wild elephant occurred.

The man sustained critical injuries during the attack, which ultimately proved fatal. The incident took place in the Pul Eliya locality within the Medawachchiya division.
