The Livestock Resources and Agricultural Insurance Board has introduced a new insurance scheme for fishermen involved in fisheries diving activities, the Livestock Resources and Agricultural Insurance Board said in a statement. This insurance scheme is being implemented as a special insurance scheme at the request of the Submarine Association and fishermen involved in fisheries activities for some time. Accordingly, if the insured dies while engaging in fisheries diving activities, Rs. 1,200,000/- (Rupees twelve lakhs) will be paid. Temporary disability caused to the insured due to an accident while engaging in diving activities in the sea or in a freshwater reservoir is also covered under this scheme.
