Sri Lanka's Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath visited the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate in the Philippines to inspect investments by two major Sri Lankan companies, marking strengthened economic ties between the nations.

The visit focused on assessing the performance and progress of Sri Lankan enterprises that have established operations in the region.

Two prominent Sri Lankan companies, Haycarb PLC and Jaindi Exports, have made significant investments in projects located within the PHIVIDEC industrial complex. According to the Foreign Ministry, these investments demonstrate the confidence of Sri Lanka's private sector in the Philippines' business environment and regulatory framework.

During his visit, Minister Herath highlighted that the Philippines presents viable opportunities for Sri Lankan businesses seeking to expand internationally and diversify their operations. His remarks reflected optimism about the trajectory of bilateral economic cooperation and the growing appetite among local enterprises to explore regional markets.

The ministerial visit coincided with the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
