A 59-year-old man from the Ellahena area of Ayagama in Ratnapura has been found dead at the bottom of a ravine, approximately five days after falling into the precipice.
Authorities in Ratnapura have recovered the body of a 59-year-old local resident who fell into a ravine in the Ellahena area of Ayagama. According to police, the man had been missing for approximately five days before his remains were discovered at the bottom of the ravine.
The body was spotted yesterday, triggering a recovery operation in the challenging terrain. Due to the difficult and inaccessible nature of the ravine's location, police requested assistance from the Sri Lanka Army to safely retrieve the remains from the site.
Initial police investigations suggest the death resulted from the fall into the precipice. The victim was identified as a resident of the same area where he was found.
