Mullaitivu Odtusuddan Otudu Factory Reopened

The Mullaitivu Odtusuddan Otudu Factory was reopened yesterday (07) at 4.30 pm by Industries Minister Sunil Handunidhi and Deputy Finance Minister Harsha Suriyaperuma. The event was attended by Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekaran, Jaffna District Parliamentarians, Vanni District Parliamentarians, District Secretariat and Divisional Secretariat officials, and local people. In the first phase, the factory has been started by repairing old machinery. It has been reported that new equipment will be purchased in the future. Following the intensification of the civil war in the 1990s, the factory operations were gradually stopped. Later, the factory was operated under the structure of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam for some time. After the last war, this factory was completely abandoned and remained inactive after the resettlement period. Currently, this factory has been partially renovated with a budget of about 30 million rupees and is open today. However, the old machinery of this factory has been renovated, renovated and operated again. Many of these machines are in a state of irreparable use. It is noteworthy that if new machinery and equipment are fully operational with modern facilities, it is possible for hundreds of young people to get employment opportunities.
