A public consultation meeting was held yesterday (18) to seek public comments and suggestions on the proposed electricity tariff revision proposal for the last quarter of 2025 by the Ceylon Electricity Board and the recommendations of the Sri Lanka Public Utilities Commission. The meeting was held at the New Assembly Hall of the District Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Trincomalee District Government Agent W.G.M. Hemantha Kumara. The Trincomalee District Session of this public consultation meeting, which is being held under Section 17 (c) of the Sri Lanka Public Utilities Commission Act, No. 35 of 2002, was held today. Representatives of the public, including electricity consumers and industry representatives, also participated and shared their views. The Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, Professor K.P.L. Chandralal, Director General, Dammitha Kumarasinghe, District Additional Government Agent S. Sudhakaran, Secretary of the Public Utilities Commission, Mrs. Nadeeja Warapitiya, Deputy Director General Nilantha Sabumanage (Operations), Assistant Director Jayasuriya (Corporate Communications), Department Heads, Public Utilities Commission officials and many members of the public were present.
