The police said that 215,526 searches have been conducted and 214,333 suspects have been arrested since the launch of the National Action Plan "Together Nationwide" yesterday, Thursday.
The national action "Together Nationwide" has been underway since October 30, 2025, with the aim of completely eradicating the widespread drug trafficking in Sri Lanka.
Through this drug eradication operation, which is being carried out on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, a multi-sectoral approach has been implemented across the country, including blocking the supply of drugs, reducing the demand for drugs and rehabilitating addicts.
Detention orders have been obtained for 3,112 of the arrested suspects, and investigations have been initiated into the illegal assets of 360 more suspects. In addition, steps have been taken to send 2,188 drug addicts for rehabilitation.
The Police Media Division has released the quantities of major drugs seized during these raids.
1,963 kg 863 grams of heroin were seized in 69,951 raids, 2,119 kg 629 grams of ice in 82,594 raids, and 288 kg 864 grams of cocaine in 189 raids.
In addition, 5,817 kg 714 grams of cannabis and 12,899,201 cannabis plants were seized in 47,905 raids.
Furthermore, during these operations, 479 kilograms 246 grams of Kush and 312 kilograms 291 grams of Hashish were seized by the police.
