The Colombo High Court has ordered that steps be taken to summon two Indian witnesses in the case filed against Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa in connection with the Girish transaction. The court has announced that this action should be taken in accordance with the procedure for issuing summons to foreign witnesses under the Judicial Services Commission circular. This order was issued following the Criminal Investigation Department informing the court that it was unable to contact the two Indian witnesses in question.
