Colombo High Court Judge Nadee Aparna Murfurugoda yesterday (25) ordered the formal issuance of summons to two Indian national witnesses in the Krish deal case filed against Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa. The judge took this step after the Criminal Investigation Department informed the court that it was difficult to directly contact these two witnesses under the current circumstances. Accordingly, the High Court ordered that steps be taken to issue these summons in accordance with the special official procedure for issuing summons to foreign witnesses in accordance with the provisions of the Judicial Service Commission circular. The Attorney General has filed this case against Namal Rajapaksa, alleging that he received Rs. 70 million from the Indian Krish company under the guise of promoting rugby in Sri Lanka and used it for criminal purposes. Summonses were issued to two Indian nationals, Rajendra Gupta and Amit Patel, who are witnesses 1 and 2 in the case. A.J.A. Abeynayake
