Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has agreed to appear before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on Friday regarding an alleged bribery matter connected to SriLankan Airlines aircraft acquisitions.
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has formally summoned Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa to appear on Friday at 9:00 a.m., according to his legal representative, Muditha R. Lokumudali. The attorney confirmed that his client has accepted the directive and will comply with the Commission's request.
Rajapaksa initially received notice to appear before the Commission last Monday. His legal team subsequently requested a postponement, asking to appear on the 25th of the month or at a later date. However, the CIABOC rejected this request and reaffirmed the original Friday appointment through written communication sent via WhatsApp, according to Lokumudali.
