The Sri Lanka Navy's Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit rescued two children who were at risk of drowning after their jet ski overturned at Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya on August 16.
Two children aged 11 and 13 were rescued by Sri Lanka Navy personnel following a jet ski accident at Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya on August 16. The incident occurred while the children were participating in water sports activities at the lake.
Members of the Navy's Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit, who were stationed at Gregory Lake for lifesaving duties, witnessed the jet ski capsizing and immediately intervened. The personnel brought both children safely to shore after they had become at risk of drowning in the water.
Both rescued children are residents of the Minuwangoda area. Following their recovery, they were handed over to Nuwara Eliya Police for further procedures.
