Sri Lanka Police has introduced three dedicated telephone numbers to assist applicants with Police Clearance Certificate inquiries while the online system undergoes essential maintenance. Temporary alternative procedures for certificate submission have been put in place.

Sri Lanka Police announced the establishment of three hotline numbers—071-8595946, 071-8595947, and 071-8595948—to support applicants experiencing difficulties with Police Clearance Certificate submissions. The Special Operations Room at Police Headquarters operates these lines around the clock to handle inquiries, provide guidance, and resolve problems related to the Police Clearance Division.

The move follows a temporary suspension of the online application system due to necessary maintenance work on the computerized clearance certificate infrastructure. According to police statements, the interim measure ensures continuous support for individuals requiring certificates for overseas travel and foreign employment while the system is being restored.

During the maintenance period, applicants can submit Police Clearance Certificate requests through their local police stations using a downloadable form available on the police website. The form requires submission along with copies of a National Identity Card, passport, and birth certificate. An affidavit is required when names differ between identity documents. Sri Lankan citizens abroad may submit documents through a relative at their nearest police station, while foreign nationals are advised to apply through the nearest Sri Lankan Embassy or diplomatic mission in their country.

Police have indicated that clearance certificates will continue to be processed through these alternative mechanisms until the online system is fully operational.
