A new Lionistic year has begun for Lions International Multiple District 306, Sri Lanka, bringing with it renewed vision, stronger commitment and a dynamic leadership team ready to guide the movement through 2026/2027. As one of the most respected service organizations in the country, Lions Multiple District 306 continues its proud mission of empowering communities, supporting humanitarian causes and creating meaningful change through dedicated volunteer service. At the forefront of this new chapter is Lion Rajitha Rodrigo PMJF PMAF, who assumes leadership as the Multiple Council Chairperson for 2026/2027. His appointment marks an important milestone for Lions in Sri Lanka, bringing forward a leadership style built on experience, professionalism, collaboration and service-minded dedication. Under his guidance, the Multiple District is expected to move forward with renewed energy, focusing on impactful service projects, membership growth, youth engagement, leadership development and stronger community outreach. Lions Multiple District 306 operates under the guidance and advisory support of a distinguished panel of senior Lion leaders, including International President 2007/2008 Lion Mahendra Amarasuriya PMJF PMAF, LCIF Trustee and Past International Director Lion Mahesh Pasqual PMJF PMAF, Past International Director Lion Sunil Watwala PMJF PMAF and Past International Board Appointee Lion Sarath De Fonseka PMJF PMAF. Their visionary leadership, vast experience and continued commitment to Lionism provide invaluable direction in strengthening service, leadership and humanitarian impact across the Multiple District. The beginning of the new Lionistic year reflects both continuity and transformation. Lions International has long been recognized for its commitment to serving humanity, while the Sri Lankan Lions movement has played a vital role in addressing community needs across health, environment, education, hunger relief, disaster response and social development. The new leadership team is expected to strengthen these service areas while introducing fresh ideas to expand the reach and relevance of Lionism across the island. Twelve Honorable District Governors were elected for 2026/2027, representing the expanded leadership structure of Lions Multiple District 306. These district leaders will play a great role in implementing service programs, supporting clubs, encouraging membership engagement and ensuring that Lions projects reach communities in every part of the country. Together, this leadership team represents a wide range of professional expertise, community experience and Lionistic commitment. Their collective responsibility will be to motivate clubs, develop future leaders, encourage service excellence and ensure that every district contributes meaningfully to the broader goals of Lions International. The beginning of the Lionistic year is more than a ceremonial transition. It is a time for Lions across Sri Lanka to realign their goals, renew their commitment and work together under a common purpose. With the world facing increasing social, economic, environmental and health-related challenges, the role of service organizations has become more important than ever. The year ahead is expected to focus on strengthening public awareness of Lions’ service initiatives, enhancing collaboration among districts, supporting youth and Leo engagement, and encouraging greater participation from communities and partners. Special attention will also be given to sustainable service projects that create long-term value beyond one-time impact. As Lions International Multiple District 306, Sri Lanka, steps into the 2026/2027 Lionistic year, the message is clear: the movement is ready to serve with purpose, lead with unity and inspire with action.
