Following devastating flash floods in Nepal's Rasuwa District triggered by a Tibetan glacier outburst, Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed no Sri Lankan nationals have been reported killed or injured so far.

A catastrophic flash flood swept through Nepal's Rasuwa District after an upstream avalanche and glacier outburst in Tibet sent waves estimated between 8 to 10 meters high down the Bhote Koshi River. The disaster has caused extensive damage across the affected region, with at least 17 deaths reported and numerous people still unaccounted for.

According to Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, no casualties or injuries involving Sri Lankan nationals have been documented in connection with the floods. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Thushara Rodrigo stated that the Sri Lankan Embassy in Nepal is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as additional information becomes available.

Rescue and recovery operations continue across the affected areas, with a coordinated effort involving the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force. The disaster has been particularly severe at the border, where security infrastructure has been damaged. Several security personnel are among those reported missing after posts in Timure and Rasuwagadhi were destroyed by the floodwaters.
