All arrangements have been finalized for the National Poson Festival, which will be centred around the historic Mihintale, the Anuradhapura Atamasthana sacred sites, and the Tantirimale Rajamaha Viharaya.Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police for the North Central Province, Tilak C.A. Dhanapala, said that more than 3,500 police officers, including 3,180 uniformed personnel, will be deployed to ensure security and manage public safety during the festival.Meanwhile, a special traffic plan will be implemented in and around Anuradhapura today (28) in view of the historic Mihindu Perahera, which is scheduled to parade through the city tonight as part of the Poson celebrations.A large number of dansals have also been organized across the area for the festival. Police have urged organizers to ensure that these dansals are operated in a manner that does not obstruct traffic or inconvenience pilgrims and other road users.
