Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) have inspected more than 7,200 Poson dansals across the island, with four beverage dansals ordered to close for failing to meet health standards. The Public Health Inspectors’ Association said 7,215 dansals had been inspected as part of the Poson food safety programme. Of those, 131 dansals with identified shortcomings were allowed to continue operating after being instructed to rectify the issues, while four soft drink dansals were shut down for preparing beverages that failed to meet required standards. The association said a total of 18,412 Poson dansals had been registered this year, and inspections of those operating today and tomorrow will continue, with inspections carried out at permanent and temporary shops located in and around Poson zones throughout the festival period.
