Chief Minister Vijay has expressed his condolences over the demise of director Bhagyaraj and announced that state honours will be accorded to his final journey.
He said that state honours will be accorded to Bhagyaraj in appreciation of his contribution.
In a post he posted in this regard, he said;
I was deeply shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news of the demise of Bhagyaraj, who left his mark on the Tamil film industry with his multifaceted talent as a great director, actor, screenwriter, dialogue writer and music composer.
Bhagyaraj, who has made an indelible mark in the minds of the Tamil people through his unique storytelling, humorous acting, films reflecting the deep feelings of rural life and family ties, has made a significant contribution to the Tamil film industry.
Each of his works, along with entertaining, will remain as unforgettable memories that speak of humanity and social values. His demise is an irreparable loss to the Tamil film industry.
I express my deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family, relatives, friends, film industry and fans.
I pray that his soul rests in the eternal peace of God. He said that in appreciation of Bhagyaraj's contribution to the film industry and to pay tribute to him, a state funeral will be held on his last journey. R
