The United Nations Independent Commission of Inquiry has accused Israeli forces of continuing to commit acts of genocide by systematically targeting Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, in a new report. The report, released on Tuesday (23), indicated that Israeli forces are inflicting “unprecedented levels of death, injury and severe trauma” on Palestinian children. The report describes the targeting of children as the main evidence of Israel’s genocidal intent to completely destroy the Palestinian people. The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement that “this is a brutal propaganda statement similar to the past.” In addition, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, strongly criticized the report, saying that “this is a political conspiracy disguised as a UN document.”
