With Ceylon Open 2026 and SLAM25 as its flagship event properties, Padel Chief is building the infrastructure, tournament standards, player ratings, and national pathways needed to grow Padel and Pickleball in Sri Lanka. Padel Chief, a Sri Lankan-built digital infrastructure platform for competitive premium racket sports, is strengthening its position as a driving force behind the organised growth of Padel and Pickleball in Sri Lanka. At a time when premium racket sports are gaining rapid momentum among professionals, entrepreneurs, business leaders, sports enthusiasts, families, and lifestyle-focused communities, Padel Chief is working to bring structure, transparency, and consistency to the way these sports are played, managed, and experienced. The platform has been developed to support the full competitive ecosystem, from players and clubs to tournaments, sponsors, spectators, and event organisers. Through tournament management, player ratings, public draws, match tracking, result submissions, live event coverage, and digitally supported competition formats, Padel Chief is helping transform emerging premium racket sports into professionally managed sporting communities with clear pathways for growth. At the heart of this development are Padel Chief’s two flagship event properties: Ceylon Open 2026 and SLAM25. While Ceylon Open 2026 operates as a major championship-style tournament with a large-scale Grand Finale, SLAM25 is built as a fast-paced, frequent competition format that gives players regular opportunities to compete, improve, and build their ratings. Ceylon Open 2026, the Padel Chief Doubles Championship, has grown into one of Sri Lanka’s premier Padel events. This year’s tournament has attracted many of Sri Lanka’s leading Padel players, strengthening its credibility, visibility, and relevance within the local sports community. The 2026 edition is set to become a landmark event for the sport in Sri Lanka, having grown into one of the country’s largest Padel tournaments. With strong player participation, active promotion from leading names in the sport, and growing interest from the wider community, Ceylon Open 2026 reflects the increasing scale and ambition of competitive Padel in the country. The tournament will also feature the largest cash prize pool ever offered for a Padel tournament in Sri Lanka, setting a new benchmark for the local game. With more than LKR 300,000 in prize money across divisions and categories, Ceylon Open 2026 represents a significant step forward in the professionalisation of the sport. As part of its commitment to raising tournament standards, Padel Chief also introduced Sri Lanka’s first-ever public draw for a Padel event through Ceylon Open 2026. The initiative was designed to improve transparency, build player confidence, and set a new standard for how premium racket sports events can be administered in Sri Lanka. Ceylon Open 2026 is structured across two months, three divisions, and nine categories. Players compete across Pro, Intermediate, and Beginner divisions, with Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles categories available within each division. The tournament’s flexible structure allows early-round matches to be played on the players’ own schedules. Teams receive the draw, coordinate directly with opponents, agree on a venue and time, complete their match, and submit results within the allocated round window. Every match contributes to the official Padel Chief rating system, giving players a transparent way to track performance, measure progress, and build their competitive standing. The Ceylon Open 2026 Grand Finale will take place on August 22 and 23 at Padel House, CR & FC, bringing all semi-finals and finals together across one major weekend. Around 50 high-quality matches are expected to be played over two days, creating a premium match-day environment with continuous competition, spectator engagement, live streaming, professional photography, and video coverage. The growth of Padel Chief and its flagship events has also been supported by a strong partner network. Brands that have come on board to support the platform and its events include HNB, Dunlop, Star Holdings, Thema Collection, Mandarina Hotel, NOX Sri Lanka, Nutrimax, Sport Nutrition Hub, Perera & Sons, Flash Health, Amcon, and Reignite. Their involvement reflects the growing commercial confidence around premium racket sports in Sri Lanka and the value of engaging with a high-quality community of players, professionals, entrepreneurs, families, and sports enthusiasts. Alongside Ceylon Open, Padel Chief’s second flagship event property, SLAM25, has become one of the most consistent competitive formats in Sri Lanka’s Padel calendar. Running twice a week since January 4, SLAM25 gives players frequent opportunities to compete, improve, and build their rating through regular match play. The SLAM25 season will culminate with the Grand SLAM25 Championship Finale, scheduled to take place on September 12 and 13. The Finale will bring together top-rated players based on season performance, creating a clear merit-based pathway from weekly competition to a championship-level event. The season will then conclude with the Padel Chief Awards Night on September 18, where achievements across the platform’s wider tournament ecosystem will be recognised, including Ceylon Open, SLAM25, Grand SLAM25, partner club tournaments, and regional events. SLAM25 has also expanded into dedicated variants designed to broaden participation and raise the standard of play. These include W-SLAM25, focused on women’s-only competition, and ProAM SLAM25, where professional-level players compete alongside amateur players in a format designed to share experience, mentor developing players, and improve the overall standard of Padel in Sri Lanka. Padel Chief’s growth has not been limited to its own flagship events. Earlier this year, the platform supported Padel Club in Battaramulla by providing its tournament infrastructure for the club’s event held on March 27, 28, and 29, followed by its Pro event on April 25 and 26. These events demonstrated how Padel Chief’s technology and operating framework can support clubs in running structured, professionally managed tournaments. The platform has also expanded beyond Colombo, holding events at Tropic Padel courts in Unawatuna, further strengthening its role in growing premium racket sports across Sri Lanka. This move into the South reflects Padel Chief’s broader ambition to build a national ecosystem rather than a Colombo-focused tournament circuit. Commenting on the platform’s growth, Nisal Sudhila, COO of Padel Chief, said, “Padel Chief was created to bring structure, consistency, and credibility to competitive premium racket sports in Sri Lanka. Ceylon Open and SLAM25 are our two flagship event properties, but they are part of a much larger ecosystem that includes club tournaments, regional events, player ratings, public draws, and Awards Night. Our goal is to give players more opportunities to compete, help clubs run better tournaments, and create a professional platform that can support the growth of Padel, Pickleball, and other premium racket sports across the country.” Speaking on the platform’s technology and long-term scalability, Minoj Selvarasa, CTO of Padel Chief, said, “The technology behind Padel Chief is designed to make every match count. From tournament scheduling and result tracking to ratings and player progression, our focus is to create a transparent and scalable infrastructure for premium racket sports. Ceylon Open and SLAM25 show how technology can improve the player experience, strengthen tournament operations, and build a reliable competitive pathway. We believe this Sri Lankan-built platform has the potential to support not only Padel and Pickleball locally, but premium racket sports ecosystems beyond Sri Lanka as well.” Through Ceylon Open 2026, SLAM25, the Grand SLAM25 Championship Finale, partner club tournaments, regional activations, and the upcoming Padel Chief Awards Night, Padel Chief is positioning itself as more than a tournament organiser. It is becoming the platform behind Sri Lanka’s competitive premium racket sports ecosystem, connecting players, clubs, brands, and audiences through structured competition and digital infrastructure. As Padel and Pickleball continue to grow in Sri Lanka, Padel Chief aims to play a central role in raising standards, improving transparency, increasing participation, and creating a sustainable competitive pathway for players at every level.
