Sri Lanka's Parliament will convene for four consecutive days next month, with sessions dedicated to debating regulations, bills, and resolutions across various legislative matters.

Parliament will hold a four-day sitting from 18 to 21 August 2026, according to a decision made by the Committee on Parliamentary Business chaired by Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne. Each day will follow a structured schedule beginning at 9:30 am with parliamentary business designated under Standing Order provisions, followed by question periods for members.

The opening session on Tuesday, 18 August will focus on debating import and export regulations for approval, followed by the referral of the National Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Bill to a Legislative Standing Committee. An opposition-led adjournment motion is also scheduled for debate that evening. Wednesday's agenda includes debate on a Finance Act Resolution, while Thursday will see discussion of amendments to employment legislation affecting women, young persons, and children. The final day on Friday will be devoted to a government adjournment motion.

Standardised time allocations have been set for each sitting day, with oral questions scheduled between 10:00 and 11:00 am, and additional questions under Standing Order provisions from 11:00 to 11:30 am. Main legislative business will occupy the period from 11:30 am onward on most days. The Committee's arrangements reflect the parliament's ongoing legislative calendar and the rotation of business between government and opposition initiated matters throughout the week.
