Sri Lanka's Parliament website has secured the Gold Award for Best Government Website and Overall Silver Award at the BestWeb.lk 2026 competition, marking its return to the awards after a seven-year gap.

The official website of Sri Lanka's Parliament has achieved recognition at the BestWeb.lk 2026 Awards, taking home the Gold Award in the Best Government Website category alongside an Overall Silver Award for Best Website. The honour reflects the site's performance across multiple evaluation criteria used in the competition.

The awards ceremony took place on 12 August at Monarch Imperial in Sri Jayawardenepura, with Prime Minister's Secretary G. Pradeep Saputhanthri serving as Chief Guest. The event was organized by the LK Domain Registry and drew submissions from over 350 websites competing across 24 categories.

Judging for the competition assessed entries based on technical implementation, performance, design, content quality, security features, and other aspects of website functionality. Parliament's participation marks a significant return to the competition after a seven-year absence. The institution attributed this comeback to the launch of its newly revamped website, suggesting that improvements made during the redesign process positioned it competitively among entries in the government and overall website categories.
