PCB clears Shaheen Afridi for Lanka Premier League stint

Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the 2026 Lanka Premier League (LPL).According to sources, Shaheen will leave for Sri Lanka tomorrow, where he will represent Kandy Royals in the tournament.The left-arm pacer had been attending the Pakistan team’s white-ball training camp in Lahore. Following the issuance of the NOC, he will leave the camp to join his franchise ahead of the league. Earlier, the PCB also issued NOCs to 13 Pakistani cricketers to participate in the 2026 Global Super League, allowing them to play in the tournament from July 23 to August 1. The players granted permission include Mohammad Haris, Shahab Khan, Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Farooq, Farhan Yousaf, Shamyl Hussain, Mehran Mumtaz, Usman Khan, Ali Shabbir, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Basit and Khalil Ahmed. The third edition of the Global Super League will be held at Providence Stadium in Guyana, where five franchise teams from around the world will compete for the title.According to the PCB, the NOCs are issued to provide national players with opportunities to participate in international franchise leagues and support their professional development.Pakistan will be represented in the Global Super League by Lahore Qalandars, while Guyana Amazon Warriors will represent the host nation, the West Indies.– with Agencies inputs --
