A small plane crashed into the 109-story CITIC Tower (China Zun) in Beijing, the capital of China, on Friday (26), international media reported. The incident took place in Beijing's Central Business District (CBD), one of the most heavily guarded cities in the world. The building was evacuated immediately, and fire engines, ambulances and police rushed to the scene for rescue operations. The plane that crashed was a domestically manufactured Sunward SA 60L Aurora, a small sports and recreational aircraft. It belongs to a local pilot training and aerial photography company. The plane, which took off from Shifosi Airport, completely deviated from its usual route, according to Flight Radar 24 data. It is noteworthy that there has been no formal explanation from Chinese authorities as to how this small aircraft managed to fly for 20 minutes in this key area, given the strict restrictions on drones and aircraft flying within Beijing.
