A 23-year-old from Beruwala has been arrested over an online financial scam.
Police said the suspect allegedly used Facebook and Telegram to convince victims that they could earn money through online business activities.
The suspect is accused of defrauding Rs. 4,386,219 and misusing Rs. 500,000 from the amount.
He was arrested on July 2 by the North Western Province Computer Crime Investigation Unit. Further investigations are underway. (Newswire)
